AINSLEY THOMAS

Ainsley Thomas

Physiotherapist
B.M.R.P.T., F.C.A.M.P.T.

Ainsley's passion for anatomy and her fascination with the human body's healing abilities led her to pursue a career in physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation in 2005 and has been practicing Orthopaedics with joy ever since.


As the owner of Pembina Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, Ainsley is an acupuncture provider and a Stott Pilates Instructor. She has also completed numerous post-graduate courses, including Manual Therapy techniques, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Myofascial Release, and Muscle Energy Techniques.


In 2018, she earned her FCAMPT designation, which stands for Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy, from the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. This internationally recognized designation is awarded to physiotherapists who have completed extensive post-graduate education and demonstrated exceptional hands-on therapy skills.


Ainsley adopts a client-centric approach to treatment. She attentively listens to a patient's symptoms, conducts an investigation to identify the root cause, and then devises a comprehensive plan to address the issues.


Outside of work, Ainsley enjoys gardening, baking, and spending quality time with her young family.

MATHEW MCGRATH

Mathew McGrath

Physiotherapist
M.P.T., B.A.

Mathew graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and continued his education to graduate from the faculty of Medical Rehabilitation -Physiotherapy Masters Program in 2014.


Mathew is currently working towards becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) and presently has his Level 3 certification. Mathew is SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) Level 1 and Level 2 certified, and has attended multiple high performance training seminars including injury prevention for runners. Mathew is also certified in Fascial Scraping and Massage Cupping using IASTM techniques.


Mathew has experience training high level athletes including a 10 year history of coaching youth basketball at multiple levels ranging from Club to High School to Manitoba’s Provincial Team. Mathew is passionate about his field of physiotherapy and provides his patients with a complete physiotherapy program that includes manual therapy, cupping massage, education and an exercise regimen and rehabilitation with an emphasis on injury prevention.



Mathew has a keen interest in anything sport related and enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf. He loves spending time with his family and weekends at his family cottage in the Whiteshell.

NAYLA CARRUTHERS

Nayla Carruthers

Physiotherapist
M.P.T., BSc

Nayla is a University of Manitoba graduate with a Master’s of Physical Therapy (2016) and a Bachelor of Science. Growing up on a farm in the Swan River Valley, she played lots of different sports including volleyball, basketball, badminton, figure skating, snowboarding and softball.


Nayla is certified to practice acupuncture and has completed Level 1 and 2 (lower) of the Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy exams. In her practice, she combines manual/hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, acupuncture and education to treat her patients. She enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities with a goal-orientated approach.


Nayla has taken advanced training in the area of vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular conditions include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis. Depending on the diagnosis, vestibular rehab may consist of balance training, gaze stability training and canalith repositioning maneuvers.


Nayla stays active by running, skating, weight-training and chasing her kids around!

SABRINA ROSSI

Sabrina Rossi

Physiotherapist

M.P.T., B. Kin

Sabrina graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Recreation Management, where she earned the University Gold Medal for her graduating class and was a recipient of the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship, which is awarded for highest academic standing. Sabrina continued her education at the University of Manitoba and received her Master of Physical Therapy, graduating with the highest GPA in the Physical Therapy program.


Sabrina truly loves expanding her knowledge in physiotherapy and has completed many post- graduate courses, such as acupuncture, dry needling, cupping massage, and her Level 1 and Level 2 Lower manual therapy courses. Sabrina is also passionate about women’s health. She has taken courses in treating diastasis recti and Cesarean birth rehabilitation. She has completed all 3 levels of her pelvic floor certification and is certified to provide pelvic floor physiotherapy to all adults with pelvic floor dysfunction.


Another area of interest is pediatric physiotherapy and she has taken a Pediatric Gross Motor Development Course where she has gained knowledge in treating developmental delays, plagiocephaly and torticollis, toe walking, and other pediatric musculoskeletal conditions/injuries. She plans to pursue further manual therapy levels in the future.


Sabrina places value in empowering her patients to achieve their goals and maximize their function by incorporating exercise, education, needling, and manual therapy into her practice. She has a strong knowledge in exercise and strength training having played many sports, including Olympic weightlifting, and due to her love of being physically active.

Erin

Erin Majcher

Physiotherapist
B.M.R.P.T., B.Sc., F.C.A.M.P.T.

Erin is a seasoned physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science, both from the University of Manitoba. She graduated in 2007 and 2004 respectively and has been practicing physiotherapy for over 15 years in both hospital and private practice environments.


Erin is certified in acupuncture and dry needling and achieved her Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) in 2018. This prestigious designation is awarded after completing an intensive post-graduate education program and is recognized internationally.


Erin has also completed numerous other post-graduate courses, including cancer rehabilitation, McKenzie, Mulligan, and SFMA, and has had the privilege of assisting in teaching courses in Manitoba. She has been an active member of various committees of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba and the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association and currently chairs the Manitoba Section of the National Orthopaedic Division.


Erin's interest in physiotherapy was ignited by the exceptional care she received during her own rehabilitation. Her primary objective when treating clients is to restore full functional ability in all aspects of life. Outside the clinic, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, running, strength training, cycling, golfing, skating, playing the piano, and baking.

Juliana Barclay

Juliana Barclay

Physiotherapist

Juliana graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2020 and continued her education to graduate with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2023. She enjoys being challenged and is eager to continue learning through her peers and future courses.


Juliana finds joy in supporting others and sought a career that would incorporate her love for physical activity while positively impacting her community. As a therapist, Juliana is striving to support clients in their return to everyday activities, and pastimes they are most passionate about following an injury. She hopes to empower clients to lead active lifestyles in a capacity that best suits them.


Juliana has been very active all her life and in her spare time will be found moving. She plays hockey, skates, hikes, bikes, and most recently, joins run clubs around the city. She also volunteers as a Girl Guide Leader, providing programming and new opportunities for girls and young women.

PAUL EPP

Paul Epp

Massage Therapist, R.M.T.

Paul is a distinguished graduate of the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba, where he graduated in 2006 and was awarded the Overall Proficiency Award for his class.


He prefers to blend relaxation massage with myofascial release, deep tissue release, and trigger point therapy. This combination of techniques results in a treatment that enhances circulation and relaxation while targeting tense, problematic areas.


With over a decade of clinical experience, Paul enjoys working with clients of all ages. His patients often seek treatment for recovery from trauma, repetitive strain, or postural strain.


Whether it's a professional athlete, a hardworking mom, an office worker, a stressed student, or a grandparent wishing to play with their grandkids again, Paul enjoys helping his clients improve their overall health and quality of life!


In his free time, Paul enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, going on canoe trips, capturing nature through photography, and participating in sports.

LINDSAY BAZAN

Lindsay Bazan

Massage Therapist, R.M.T.

Lindsay is excited to be a part of the team at Pembina Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic. She is a graduate of Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies, where she trained in assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system, using swedish massage techniques.


Lindsay has completed workshops in lymph integration and spa therapies. She is passionate about helping people, and can aid in providing pain management, stress relief and Improving flexibility through her treatments.


Outside the clinic, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband, kids and family.


SABRINA ROSSI

Rhonda McGrath

Clinic Manager

Rhonda started her journey at Pembina Physiotherapy in 2008 as a Physiotherapy Aide/Receptionist. In 2012, she transitioned into the role of Clinic Manager. Along with handling administrative tasks, accounts payable/receivable, scheduling, and staffing, Rhonda takes great pleasure in interacting with patients. Her primary aim is to ensure that every patient leaves Pembina Physiotherapy fully satisfied with their experience.


In her leisure time, Rhonda enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, gardening, playing tennis, cycling, fishing, reading, and relaxing at the cottage.
